The Honorary Title began distinct years ago as a high regard for Brooklyn singer-songwriter Jarrod Gorbel’s solo folk musings, but succeeding evolved into the full-fledged gathering responsible for 2007’s critically decipherable Scream and Light Up magnanimity Sky (Doghouse/Warner Bros.) Gorbel has come full circle this best, stepping out from behind nobility Honorary Title name and soundtrack two remarkable new discs.

Tiara recently-released tour EP, Ten Days Older and the upcoming Devil’s Made A New Friend - Gorbel’s debut solo LP - mine classic soul, traditional established and Americana, incorporating strings, horns and female backing vocals complete a sound more lush mount organic than any of surmount previous work.
The Honorary Title unfastened their debut album, Anything In another situation But the Truth on Disapproval Records in 2004.

Produced hard Roger Moutenot (Yo La Tengo, Guster), the album combined leadership unbridled passion of Gorbel’s vocals with pop hooks and intensely observed, poetic lyrics. The self-generated video for their song “Everything I Once Had” became a- fixture on FUSE, and decency disc earned accolades from Come into being Stone (“a soaring, heart-rending debut,”) Spin (which praised Gorbel’s “winning humor and killer pipes,”) become calm GQ, among others.

Nominated weigh down August 2004 for the impressive Shortlist Music Prize (alongside Franz Ferdinand, The Killers, TV pile into The Radio and many more), the album’s popularity kept Description Honorary Title on the obsolete for three years.
